Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale has a refreshed race kit for 2025, new Van Reisel aerodynamic race bikes and racewear, and teenage French talent Paul Seixas and Leo Bijoux, 2023 The rejuvenated roster, which includes Junior Time Trial World Champion Oscar Chamberlain (AUS), was unveiled.
Luke Rowe has finished his racing career with Ineos Grenadiers and joins Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale, Grand Tour leader Felix Gall, sprinters Sam Bennett, Benoit Cosnefrois, Victor Lafaye, and especially road Classics, including captain Oliver Naessen, with whom he will work.
Newcomers include Swiss time triallist Stefan Bissegger and Johannes Staunet-Mitte, the 2023 under-23 Giro d'Italia winner. The WorldTour team also includes French national champion Paul Lapeyra, Aurelien Pare-Pantre, and reliable Australian sprint leadout Callum Scottson.
Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale enjoyed great success in 2024 following the arrival of the Decathlon and Van Reisel bikes. The team won 30 races, with Ben O'Connor finishing fourth overall in the Giro d'Italia and second in the Vuelta a España, wearing the leader's red jersey for two weeks. Western Australia moved to Jayco Aroura in 2025, but Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale is looking to nurture young talent quickly.
Decathlon has expanded its ties to the team, developing new aero road bikes, racewear, and off-the-road casual wear. The team has redesigned its blue and green racing colors and added a touch of green to its bikes.
“2025 will be the year we confirm and reinforce our strategic plan,” team manager Dominique Seriez said at a presentation at Decathlon's headquarters near Lille in northern France.
“We want to be one of the top teams in the world, thanks to the full support of our partners Decathlon, AG2R La Mondiale, Van Rijssel and others. We believe that together we can find the next profit that will lead us to our next success.
“We must be best prepared for 2025. We have already reformed our staff and made our organization more international. We have decided on two things: we have extended the contracts of important riders and we have welcomed five new riders from the NextGen team. As for riders and equipment, our goal is to strike a balance between experience and youth, which is part of our DNA.”
Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale has a junior team, a development team, and a World Tour team. There is no women's team; the 2025 junior team includes Gus and Evander Wishart of Great Britain and Braden Reitz of the United States (second to Ashlyn Barry in the US junior road race championships).
The Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale development team includes Australian Matthew Greenwood and other new teenage talent.
