Lapierre has announced a new four-year partnership as bike supplier to Team Picnic Post NL. The new agreement will see Lapierre bikes return to the WorldTour, and the newly renamed Team Picnic Post NL will switch from Scott to the French brand.
Team Picnic Post NL (formerly DSM-Filmenig Post NL) has men's and women's WorldTour teams and a UCI Continental-level development team. All three teams will use French branded bikes under contract from January 1, 2025 to 2028.
The official team bike design will be announced at the beginning of the 2025 season. Team riders are known to race on the Zelius DRS model announced in October and the Aerostrom DRS TT bike on which Grace Brown won gold at the Paris Olympics.
In the video below, we get our first glimpse of the new team bikes and kits and see the new Team Supermarket sponsored Picnic truck delivering groceries to the team riders. It has not yet been confirmed whether team riders will be able to shop for free at the Picnic online supermarket.
After the 2023 season, Lapierre switched Team Groupama-FDJ's bikes to Wilier Triestina for the 2024 season, ending a 22-year partnership with the team and withdrawing from the men's World Tour.
It was recently announced that women's team FDJ - SUEZ will switch from Lapierre to Specialized bikes in 2025, and it appeared that Lapierre bikes would also withdraw from the World Tour altogether.
With the new announcement, the Lapierre machines will once again be on the World Tour. In the accompanying press release, Lapierre Global Brand Director Dorian Thabor hinted at the brand's long-term vision.
“This is an important moment for Lapierre. Not only is it a return to the World Tour, but it is a testament to our ambition to become a very big brand with all the support and strength of the Axel Group.”
.” By joining forces with this great and prestigious team, we are beginning to develop our international activities and develop our strategy to make Lapierre a benchmark brand in the performance sports sector.”
