The more I look at these Cyber Monday Garmin deals, the more I get a new bike computer.

My old faithful Garmin1030Plus has been powerful since 2021, tracking my rides and collating all ride data. But this year's Cyber Monday Garmin deals have convinced me that it's time to replace it.

When the Garmin1030Plus was first released in 2020, it was arguably the best cycling computer, with features and impressive battery life. My 1030Plus is still a great device, but the new Garmin device has some new features and I think it's great.

We have shared loads of great Cyber Monday technology deals for cyclists and there are plenty of discounts on Garmin GPS computers that make the idea of upgrading to benefit from these new features even more attractive. If you have an aging bicycle computer like me, this Cyber Monday some big to upgrade your GPS

1040 is the successor to the 1030plus, so you can use the 1030 series computer. Or, if you have a lower model of 830 and 530, this contract will be performance first, the user interface of the 1040 has been significantly improved thanks to a better display menu and data screen, making it more intuitive and attractive in general.

The solar can achieve 35 hours even on standard models, but will appeal to those that require a large battery life. Also, the 1040 uses a USB-C cable to charge it.This is much more convenient and faster than the 1030Plus dated micro USB.

The 1040 allows you to control your music from your head unit, although it may seem like a small detail. It's a feature I use all the time on my Wahoo Bolt V2 and will miss when I return to my 1030 plus.

One of the biggest selling points of the 830 and 840 is the compact size, and with a small 2.6-inch screen the 840 really benefits from Garmin's cleaner UI design, which also offers easier to read and more personalized options. Control through the touch screen is not the only thing that has been improved, sometimes the touch screen can be difficult to use while riding, this Garmin added more buttons to the side of the device to solve.

GPS accuracy will also be improved, switching from single-band to multi-band GNSS to improve performance in cities and under tree cover. Like the 1040, the 840 has a solar version that uses USB-C to charge and extends battery life from 26 hours to 32 hours.

I think most riders are not only happy with the performance of the Garmin540, which is significantly better than the 530, but also share a lot of health, fitness and riding metrics like the 1040 and 840. The 540 can now help you get fitter and faster with its training status 2.0 using VO2max and Acute Load to help you easily understand the effects your rides have to better meet your training goals. Don't worry well because the Garmin 540 can now create a personalized training plan for you If you go for a long ride or miss a day, they will adjust future sessions to keep you on track too

What's worth noting here is that, unlike the 840 and 1040, it doesn't participate in creating device courses or searching for locations, but it's probably not a deal breaker, but it's a feature I use surprisingly often. It also doesn't get as much phone integration as the touchscreen model. This is the most fulfilling 500 series Garmin device, but the new UI can make some windows a bit crowded
