Tadej Pogañar is preparing to start serious training for the 2025 season to end his off-season in Slovenia.
Speaking on "Night of the Stars," the night of the awards on Monday to mark the 75th anniversary of his former club KD Rog, the world champion made plans for the rest of the year.

"I have some official events before me, but then I slowly went with the team in a warm place to prepare for the first 12 months, where
"Recently I have to train in a structured way for the new season," he told RTVSlo. "It was really cold last week, so I'm not going to go to training. But I'm glad to come to such an event. I already have several awards for cyclists of the year, but still, every year, I am more and more grateful for awards like these.
Pogagnard won 2024 titles during the dominant 25 seasons, including titles at Liege-Bastogne-Liege, Il Lombardy, Tour de France and Giro d'Italia. He told Siol that his first world title stands out as the most special of many.
"There are so many great victories, and in the biggest race, I can not choose only one. But winning at the World Championships with the national team is a little more important than any other team," he said.
"I've already defended my victories in quite a few races. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't, and it won't change again next year. Perhaps only the World Championships [in Rwanda-Ed. It's a special race, and it would stand out because it was rare for someone to win it in two consecutive years. Only the most special riders did it.
"The World Championship will probably be the hardest race to defend. But it will be even happier to go to a race that has not yet won and try to win there."
As well as looking back on the past season, Poganyal also talked about his goals for next year. Fourth Tour de France title will be the main objective, in addition to trying to take the rainbow jersey again.
However, he said that the Paris-Roubaix bid was not yet on the card. Instead, the first title in the Vuelta a España will probably be one of his main objectives.
The 26-year-old has already said he wants the next season to be "even better" than his incredibly successful 2024 season. "I look forward to a new challenge. I like to test myself on a bike and enjoy nature. It's not hard to motivate yourself," he said last week.
He added that he doesn't look at rivals for motivation at the moment and continues to improve, just as main tour rival Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease A Bike) does.
"I know he wants to train and be better than in previous years. But I have the same idea in mind – I am at least the same as I am this year"
