Marta Cavalli will return to the race in 2025 and the talented Italian climber will leave FDJ・Suez for the DSM-Firmenich PostNL.
The Italian won the Amstel Gold Race and La Fresh Wallonne in 2022 and was ranked 4th overall in the Girodon. But she was struck from behind, crashed hard at the 2022 Tour de France Femme, suffered a concussion and took time to recover in the spring of 2023 and most of 2024 due to lingering problems.
That unlucky run followed when he crashed at training camp on May 2 and was hit by a car on May 7. She raced in 2024 for just 5 days.
Cavalli took the time to heal the sport but was not in the limelight as he recently returned to social media.
"Time cancels everything but emotions, and only those can be memories," she wrote in Italian on Instagram last week.
"Something has ended and something has changed. Make sure something is part of me forever.
"Get back on your feet, then ride a bike, believe in yourself, and rebuild your future."
The DSM-Firmenich PostNL has announced that Cavalli will race for the women's World Tour team for the next 2027 season until 3.
After talented French climber Juliette Labous made the opposite transfer and moved from DSM to FDJ-Suez early in the transfer period, she became their primary GC prospect.
"Malta is a very talented bike rider physically and she has some incredible skills at the highest level of the sport. "We've won a lot of games," said Rudy Kemna, head coach at DSM-Firmenichpostnl.
"Of course she has a lot of misfortunes in recent years that have been tough on her, but she has shown tenacity to fight back where she is now
"We have a good support network within the team that can help her regain even more confidence." I believe that.
Cavalli was considered one of the best climbers in the Female Peloton at peak 1 and could be a contender for the Grand Tour. She won the Mont Ventoux Challenge in 2022, but also finished 5th in Paris Roubet.
The year 2025 and the place DSM-Firmenich PostNL is a chance to resume her career, but FDJ-Suez enters a new era built around the world's best climber, Demi Vollering.d
"I really enjoyed my time at FDJ-Suez, but after four years I wanted changes and the opportunity to meet new people and experience new things. It motivates me a lot to keep making steps and I think I have the opportunity to do it with the team dsm-firmenich PostNL," Cavalli said.
"From our first story, the team really trusts me and I believe I can get back to where I was as a rider. There are a lot of people in the team who can help me grow as a rider and as a person.
"I've been a bit unlucky over the past few years, so this is a good chance to reboot and my goal is to get back to the highest level possible with team dsm-firmenich PostNL.”
