€ 17,500 Kolnago Steelnovo Road Bike celebrates the 70th anniversary of the brand

Kornago turns 70 this year, and in honor of that, the brand has launched a limited edition steel bike named Steelnovo. Limited to 70 bikes, Steelnovo uses materials that helped forge the legendary name of Colnago. In the 1970s and 80s

Colnago has lined up a collection of Italian manufacturing partners to produce steelnovo, beginning Columbus, which offers custom drawn steel pipes. Almost all of the bikes come from Italian manufacturers.

Rather than standard rugs, Steelnovo rugs are 3D printed by the Italian additive manufacturing specialist Additiva. They butt into the frame tube, resulting in invisible welding, for a smooth frame profile.

Even sheet post clamps are integrated into a 3D printed sheet stay cluster. The steel dropout also offers the option to fit a full mount rear derailleur and UDH rear

Steelnovo Group set which has a 3D printed gold color Colnago head tube badge is a Campagnolo Super Record Wireless and comes with a custom Campagnolo x Colnago48/32t chain ring and a 10/29 tooth cassette. It's a great place to start. The derailleur also has a custom treatment, with gold and Italian flag accents and gold cornago word marks on the levers.

Campagnolo also supplies its top spec Bola Ultra WTO45 wheels, again with a custom gold logo. Pirelli supplies P Zero race tires.

Colnago notes that the Columbus/Campagnolo/Colnago combination was typical of steel racing bikes of the past, even as UAE team Emirates kit the carbon Colnago V4Rs with shimano Dura-Ace group set and Enve wheels. It is.

Despite the traditional material, Colnago Steelnovo has tapered carbon forks and full internal cable routing through CeramicSpeed SLT headphone bearings from Carbon Colnago CC 01 bar. There is a clearance to fit the T47 bottom bracket and 35mm tires.

Colnago also employed another Italian company, Carbon-Ti, to create a through axle and bar end plug embossed with the Clover Leaf logo. The bike appears to be fitted with a Brooks Cambium C13 saddle, a brand owned by Italian Serre Royal.

All custom kits and traditional and contemporary Italian craftsmanship are not cheap, and Kornago sells Steelnovo's price for 17,500 euros.

You can place an order on the Colnago website for 15 days and then through the Colnago dealer network. There are 7 different sizes on offer, from 420 to 570.

Geometrically, Cornago says that the frame is useful for both endurance riders and those looking for more aggressive positions.
