Tour de France Femme stage winner Sedrine Kervaor left Serratigit-WNT after UCI rules allowed her to terminate her contract early because the German team was not initially on the list of UCI license applicants for the 2025 Women's World Tour.
UCI rules.
On October 18, the UCI released a list of 15 teams that had submitted the required documents by the deadline, but Serratizit-WNT's name was not on it.
However, even though the team has now made up for this delay and stated that it has submitted all the paperwork, it allowed France's top talent, Kerbaol, to invoke a clause that immediately terminates the contract, which was supposed to run until the end of 2025.
“Serratigit-WNT and Sedrine Kerbaol mutually agreed to part ways following the UCI's announcement of the list of applicants for the 2025 WWT license.
“The team is, of course, disappointed with the circumstances that led to this decision, but we are proud of Cédrine's work with Serratigit-WNT.
It has not yet been announced which team Kervaor will race for in 2025, but it is likely that she has already agreed to a contract with a rival WorldTour team.
Kervaol wrote on her Instagram, “Thank you for two years of learning and inspiration. Time for another project."
The 23-year-old Kervaol, one of the leaders of Serratigit-WNT, attacked in Morteau on stage 6 and made a clever descent to pull away from the rest of the pack, earning them their first win and France's first Tour de France femme stage victory both.
Since moving from Cofidis in 2023, he has won eight races, as well as the best young jersey in the French national time trial, the Tre Valli Varesine, and the Tour de France Femme.
“Of course, we are sorry to see Celine leave in this way, but we respect her decision and wish her the best for the road ahead,” said team manager Claude Saint.
“As a team, we can look back with pride on the most successful season in our 10-year history since our start in England.
“We look forward with excitement to our eleventh season in 2025 and our second season on the World Tour, with a talented group of young riders as part of our newly formed team.
