CeramicSpeed today launched a limited 2020 campaign offering limited edition versions of its OSPW system and pulley wheels in the color of your choice, green.
For every purchase of this limited edition, the Danish brand will set aside €15 (£13.27) to raise money for women's cycling. Specifically, the funds will be used to support the struggling Bigla-Katusha women's team riders.
During the COVID-19 pandemic crisis, the UCI women's team received notice that both sponsors had withdrawn their funding, putting the team's future in jeopardy, and as a result the team resorted to bank guarantees and crowdfunding to pay team salaries.
In response, Martin Banke, executive vice president of CeramicSpeed, believed that now was the time for the community to "come together and weather the current storm," adding We have always had a great working relationship with our teams, and it is during these difficult times that we hope to extend a ray of hope to everyone involved in the sport."
CeramicSpeed is well known for its penchant for pushing the boundaries of drivetrains for maximum efficiency and has twice garnered attention at Eurobike for its Driven shaft drive concept. The brand manufactures a range of products aimed at minimal friction, including UFO-treated chains, oversized pulley wheel systems, hubs, bottom brackets, and ceramic bearings for headsets. Now that racing is on pause, riders are turning to indoor platforms to improve their competitiveness. It is here, where aerodynamics and weight are less important, that drivetrain efficiency is most beneficial.
The Green Limited Campaign Series is compatible with Shimano, SRAM, and Campagnolo, available in a variety of configurations, and will be available at CeramicSpeed.com and select retailers.
