However, earlier this month, Sibiu Tour organizers announced that the race had been rescheduled for late July due to concerns about ongoing travel and quarantine restrictions in Europe in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The first international event on the modified UCI calendar will be the one-day Grand Prix Erciyes in Turkey on July 11, with the World Tour resuming on August 1 with Strade Bianche: Alpecin-Fenix, Nippo Delko One Provence, Gazprom-RusVelo, Androni Giocattoli-Sidermec, Bardiani-CSF-Faizanè, and Vini Zabù-KTM.

The four-day race will take place in Transylvania's Sibiu County and will start with a 2.5 km prologue time trial in the historic center of the city of Sibiu. The opening stage finishes at the summit of Balearac. The second stage will be undulating terrain, which will likely favor the breakaway groups.
The race will conclude on the final morning with a 12.5km mountain time trial to Partinish.
The Sibiu Tour was first held in 2011, and Tour de France champion Egan Bernal won the overall in 2017 when he competed for Androni Giocattoli Sidermec. Other past winners include Victor de la Parte (2012), Davide Rebellin (2013), and Ivan Sosa (2018). Last year, Kevin Rivera (Androni Cidermec) was the winner.
