Lampert Extends Contract with Deceuninck Quick-Step Through 2022

Deceuninck-QuickStep has announced that Yves Lampert has signed a two-year extension to his contract with the team, which will run through 2022.

The former Belgian national champion, who joined the team in 2015, will enter his seventh season next year under the management of Patrick Lefebvre, ensuring his place as a key member of the Belgian team.

"I am happy with the contract extension," Lampaert said. "It's nice to feel that Patrick and the team trust me! I'm happy to feel that Patrick and the team have faith in me! This will definitely give me even more momentum for the rest of the season when it resumes. I'm looking forward to the upcoming races with a clear mind.

"I have a special bond with this team and I am a proud Wolf. Next year will be my seventh year with this team.

Lampert is one of the team's strongest one-day racers, both as support and as a championship contender. He is a two-time winner of the Dwars door Hlaanderen, a podium finisher at Paris-Roubaix and Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, and a stage winner at the Vuelta a España.

His contract expired at the end of the season, and although he was reportedly in contact with other teams, he wanted to stay with Dečuninck-Quickstep.

"Yves has been part of our circle of trust for some time. We know what he is capable of and we believe he will improve further in the coming years," Lefebvre said.

"He is very highly regarded by his colleagues and does not hesitate to give his all for them. He puts the group first, not himself, as he should at Wolfpack. It gives us great satisfaction to have him with us for two more years."
