Jumbo Bisma and Ag Develop New Time Trial Skin Suit

Dutch WorldTour team Jumbo Visma and clothing supplier Ag, along with the Eindhoven University of Technology, announced that they have developed a new, faster skinsuit that will be used by the team's time trial specialists in the remaining races this season. At the same time, the team and its clothing and eyewear supplier announced the continuation of their partnership with an "indefinite contract."

Ag will be the team's clothing supplier from the beginning of 2019, and the two have already worked together to develop a "sprint suit" (a skin suit used during road races, sometimes called a "speed suit" by other manufacturers), which was used in last year's Tour de France Mike Tunissen wore it to win the opening stage and take the yellow jersey for the first time.

The latest project involves working with the Eindhoven University of Technology (TUE) and its wind tunnel to develop time trial skinsuits and provide all of the team's time trial specialists with custom-made skinsuits.

"This is a very intensive process and has already resulted in a drag reduction of more than 3.7% and a time reduction of up to 1.3% compared to the initial state (previous skinsuit)," said TUE professor Bert Brocken.

"For riders like Tom Dumoulin, every millisecond counts. 'Time reduction is very important, and it can be found in the details.' Ag has taken the wheel with us and taken us to the next level. Furthermore, this partnership shows that Agu supports 100% not only the professional team, but also the (under-23) development team and the team's future plans"

.

Agu and Jumbo Bisma also signed a new "indefinite term contract" in Eindhoven on Monday.

"Our sponsorship model with an indefinite main sponsor is unique. The fact that Ag joins that model as a clothing and eyewear partner, and that we are heading into the future together indefinitely, confirms the trust we have in each other."

Björn Jeurissen, CEO of Agu, added, "Since our collaboration began, our product development has gained momentum. The feedback from the team, both from the coaching staff and from the riders, has been invaluable"

. [The bicycle market now shows a lot of potential and growth. We are very proud to be able to offer you the innovative products we have developed with Team Jumbo-Visma as part of our collection.
