According to Sporza, Wout van Aert (Jumbo-Visma) will restart his 2020 road season with a podium finish at the Strade Bianche on August 1.

The 25-year-old first came to prominence in Italy's top-class one-day road races in 2018, and in his second appearance with Jumbo-Visma, he finished third in Siena behind Taige Benoot and Romain Bardet. 2019 will see Van Aert join Julien Alaphilippe and Jacob Fuglsang followed by a podium finish.

Fanart is expected to continue to play an important role in the Jumbo-Visma Tour de France team this season, along with the three leaders Primoš Roglic, Tom Dumoulin, and Steven Kruijswijk.

Before the Tour de France begins on August 29, the team will ride the flat and fast Milan-Torino on August 5 before heading to the Dauphiné (August 12-16).

It remains to be seen if van Aert will defend his title at the Belgian time trial championships on August 20, but he will miss the UCI Road World Championships because the men's elite time trial coincides with the final stage of the Tour de France.
