The Valcar Travel & Services sprinter told Cycling News that he is not in the best shape after experiencing the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown in Italy and will start the modified calendar in a domestique role. The UCI released its revised late-season calendar in May, and while the Women's World Tour has already cancelled some events, 15 of the original 22 events have been retained.

"Honestly, I'm not in top condition," Campbell told Cycling News. 'This puts me in a domestique role, and I'm happy with the team for understanding that. I'm happy with the team for understanding this." It also takes some of the pressure off, as he is a little less confident now.
Campbell had a promising start to the season in February. She took two fifth-place finishes at Setmana Ciclista Valenciana and Omloop van het Haegeland and a third at the Vuelta CV Feminas. She now has her sights set on the September race, trying to make time to train, race, and improve her form again.
"My season goals are between September and November," Campbell says. 'During this period I have to be in top form and condition. Mentally as well. During this period the racing goes on and I like this constant flow."
"I like to be in a good mood.

Campbell did not announce a race schedule, but told Cycling News in a previous interview that she would like to compete in the time trial at the World Championships in Switzerland, with the goal of winning a major classic race.
Valcar Travel & Service recently held a training camp in Livigno, which Campbell said was a good opportunity to build base miles and prepare for the season three months ahead.
"Two weeks ago, I did a two-week retreat in Livigno. 'It was very painful and a grueling experience for my body. It was my first time training at altitude."
Valcar Travel & Services is registered to compete in the UCI 1.1 One-Day Race in Spain this week. The team has also earned one of 23 invitations to the Tour de France La Course on August 29.
