[road race world champion Mats Pedersen, classic specialist Jasper Steuben, sprinter Matteo Moschetti, and 22-year-old climber Juan Pedro Lopez, who joined this season from Cometa, a Spanish continental team

They have experience.

They will be supported by experienced Belgian Edward Theuns, Latvian Emil Riepiņš, and newcomer Charlie Quarterman from England, who will be looking to win in all conditions.

Pedersen, the world champion, said on the team's website on Monday, "I want to race again. I'm going there to race and to prepare for the next race. I think we'll have a good race, but we're all very motivated and it's the first race for almost the entire peloton. We don't know what's going to happen, but we're racing to win."

Moschetti, the team's main sprinter, is recovering from a broken hip sustained in a crash earlier this season on stage 3 of Etoile de Besseges, and the 23-year-old Italian will be joined by UAE Team Emirates' Fernando Gaviria, Arnaud Demare (Groupama -FDJ) and Deceuninck-Quick Step's Sam Bennett are eager to test their legs in a group sprint against other fast riders.

"I'm really looking forward to getting back to racing in Burgos. I'm really looking forward to racing again in Burgos because two years ago I won this race for the first time as a professional rider. It was a great race and I'm excited to be back. This year is more important because it is the first race after this (coronavirus) blockade period.

Prior to his February crash, Moschetti had won two races, the season-opening Trofeo Playa de Palma and the Mallorca Challenge's Trofeo Ferránitex.

"For me, my recovery from the crash is going well, but I still don't know my condition. I want to show my strength in the sprints. We have strong riders on the team, so if I'm not quite up to par, I'm happy to work for my teammates."

Gregory Rast, director sportif of Trek-Segafredo, added: "The riders and staff are all very excited about the race. 'Both the riders and staff are really looking forward to finally getting back to business with the goal of racing. I can't wait."

"It's clear that this is a super strong team chosen for the sprints, both flat and uphill. We have big ambitions and goals for the sprint stages. There are also two mountain finishes where Lopez will be in action. It's good for Lopez to have this opportunity without the pressure of having to show something. For Lopez, it's nice to have this chance without the pressure of having to show something."
