The UCI announced Tuesday the 25 races that will make up the 2021 Women's World Tour. The top-tier events include two new Spanish stage races: the Iturria Women's on May 14-16 and the Vuelta a Burgos Feminas on May 20-23, plus the return of the Prudential RideLondon Classic on May 30.
The series will begin with the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race in Australia on January 30 and continue through to the Strade Bianche in Europe on March 6.
The traditional calendar then moves to the Netherlands for the Ronde van Drenthe (March 14) and back to Italy for the Trofeo Alfredo Binda (March 21).
The top spring classics open with the Dreidage Bruges des Pannes (March 25), Ghent-Wevelgem (March 28), Tour de Flanders (April 4), and the second edition of Paris-Roubaix (April 11).
ASO surprised the cycling world this year by adding the first women's Paris-Roubaix to the late-season women's World Tour.
The Ardennes Classics return to their traditional order, with the Amstel Gold Race Ladies Edition (April 18), Flèche Wallonne (April 21), and Liège-Bastogne-Liège (April 25) to conclude the spring classics.
The peloton will then turn its attention to stage races beginning with the three-day Tour of Chongming Island (May 6-8).
It is worth noting that the Amgen Women's Tour of California is off the calendar. Emakumeen Bira will also not return to the calendar as the organizers cancelled last year's event.
"The organizers of the Amgen Tour of California Women's Race have not requested registration on the UCI Women's World Tour Calendar for 2021," the UCI said in a press release.
The three-day Itzulia Women (formerly Donostia San Sebastian) and the three-day Vuelta a Burgos Feminas are new additions to the calendar for the May race block.
The Ride London Classic will return to the calendar on May 30 after being left off the 2020 Women's World Tour due to a scheduling conflict with the Ladies Tour of Norway.
The stage race will be followed by the Women's Tour in England from June 7-12, and the 10-day Giro Rosa in Italy from July 2-11.
As in previous years, La Course by Le Tour de France will be held as a one-day race on July 18 and will be held in conjunction with the final stage of the men's Tour de France.
In August, the Postnord UCI WWT Volgorda West Sweden TTT & Road Race (August 7 and 8) and GP de Plouët (August 21) will be one-day races, as well as the Ladies Tour of Norway (August 12-15) and Boels Ladies Tour (August (August 24-29), two stage races will be held.
The Women's World Tour will conclude with the Madrid Challenge by La Vuelta (September 3-5) and the finale of the Tour of Guangxi (October 19).
