Ekip Paul Ca was forced to withdraw from the Giro delle Miglia International Donne Elite after thieves stole seven team-supplied CHAPTER 2 bikes in Bologna on Sunday. The team announced a €5,000 reward for the safe return of the bikes.
"We are sorry to announce the withdrawal of Équipe Paule Ka from the Giro delle Miglia tomorrow," the team said in a press release.
"The CHAPTER2 HURU and RERE bicycles were stolen from the team hotel in Bologna and there was no time to replace the bicycles before the race. Therefore, team management decided that there was no other option but to abandon the race."
The team's press release stated.
The Giro delle Miglia is a 1. pro race held on Tuesday between Bologna and San Luca. Many of the participating teams arrived in Bologna a few days before the race to train and prepare.
The teams woke up to find that their bikes had been stolen from the Amatì Design Hotel (Via Rigosa, 14 Zola Predosa, 40069 Bologna BO, Italy) on Sunday. [2 CHAPTER 2 HURU (black) and 5 CHAPTER 2 RERE (white).
"Everyone on the team is very disappointed and frustrated by this series of incidents. If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of our bicycles, please contact us.
