Mitchelton-Scott has announced that it will be aiming for a stage win with its "strongest team of opportunists," including Adam Yates, 2019 stage winner Daryl Impey, sprinter Luca Mejek, and climbers Mikkel Nieve and Esteban Chaves. Also joining the team will be experienced rulers Jack Bauer, Sam Bury, and Chris Jules-Jensen.
"This has not been a normal year by any stretch of the imagination, but the team is focused and ready for the challenge," Senior Director Sportif Matt White said after the lineup announcement.
"We are very pleased with the mix of experience and talent available for this year's race. This is a very complete group across all terrains. Last year was an incredible race for the team and we will continue in the same vein of going for stage wins."
"One thing is for sure, we will not leave France without giving it our all and making our fans and sponsors proud as we take on the world! "

The Australian team has been in a difficult position in 2020 due to the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The team's future became uncertain after takeover negotiations with Spain-based Manuela Foundacion were unsuccessful. Severe payroll cuts were made, negotiations with Manuela Foundacion broke down in public, and a revamp of the team's management team was sparked.
Eventually, team owner Jerry Ryan stepped in and announced that he would continue to fund the team for the next two years and that starting in August, player and staff salaries would return to their original levels. This continuity and stability was key to Simon Yates staying with the team for two more seasons. However, Adam Yates is expected to move teams for 2021 and revealed at the Criterium du Dauphiné that he is suffering from a "persistent stomach bug."
Daryl Impey has raced the Tour de France seven times with the Australian team, but will move to Chris Froome and Israel Startup Nation in 2021.
"A stage win for the team would definitely be a success, and it would be great for me personally. We had great success last year and it will be hard to repeat it, but I have no doubt that we will do everything in our power to achieve it.
"Being a stage winner brings a certain calmness to me. I was always chasing this and sometimes I got too excited and ruined my chances. Now I can say, 'If this was my only chance, ...... I can think more clearly and not have to think about it. To win that day, at that level, out of so many specialist breaks, gives me confidence that I can do it."
