Giro wants to improve your training regime with its latest road shoe product update. American cycling brand Giro has added Regime to its roadwear lineup with the goal of creating a power-efficient and comfortable shoe.
Giro's product planners wanted to offer a shoe that featured excellent adjustability and all-day comfort without sacrificing sole stiffness that would prevent watts from being wasted.
The result was a seamless cinchwire upper with improved ventilation and secured with BOA's L6-spec dials that operate in 1mm increments. This combination of Giro's cinchwire upper and BOA's most sensitive adjustment dials allows for a very snug fit without impeding airflow through the shoe's upper structure.
Ergonomic principles have been applied inside the new Regime. Giro's extensive experience in shoe design and rider research helped form a 3D molded footbed with moderate arch support in its overall shape. It also features an Aegis antimicrobial treatment for superior hygiene.
In addition to comfort and adjustability, the Regime is also efficient in converting power output into an efficient pedal stroke. The outsole is made of carbon composite, with a thermoplastic walking pad for a comfortable gait and increased safety off the bike.
A generous 5mm cleat box position ensures that the Regime provides a comfortable cleat position regardless of crank arm size, leg length, or range of motion. Giro's new Regime shoes weigh 265 g.
Giro sells the new Regime in men's sizes 39-50 and half sizes 42.5-45.5. Women's sizes are 36-43 and half sizes 37.5-42.5.
For riders looking for the fit characteristics of BOA dials and on-bike adjustability and the pedaling efficiency of a carbon sole, these new Regimes offer solid value.
Pricing for Giro's new Regimes road shoes is $225/€229.95.
