TIBCO-SVB renews contract with core virtual team for Tour de France

TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank announced Thursday that it has signed Virtual Racing's core team, which includes overall Virtual Tour de France winner Lauren Stevens, overall V-Series Women's Tour winner Leah Dixon, and Sarah Gigante and Kristen Faulkner The company announced that it has signed a deal for the 2021 season.

The American team revealed that it is looking for a third partner to join its two longtime sponsors, TIBCO Software and Silicon Valley Bank.

Stevens is entering her eighth season with TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank. She won stages 2 and 6 of the Virtual Tour de France and has two third-place finishes.

"I'm looking forward to next season. 'It's been an interesting year to say the least, but it's been fun learning new disciplines together as a team. Our joint goal of winning the virtual Tour de France fostered a strong team bond, even though we were away from home for months. I look forward to continuing to race and train with Zwift as we begin road racing again. I think we can expect Virtual Racing to continue to be important to us as a team."

Dixon and Faulkner are both second-year TIBCO Silicon Valley Bank signees. Dixon won the virtual Women's Tour, while Faulkner took second place on the first day of the Zwift virtual Tour de France, followed by two fifth-place finishes.

Gigante, 19, is one of the most promising young talents on the road circuit, securing second place on stage 5 of the virtual Tour de France. Gigante first made a name for himself last January when he won the Australian Championships road race. He then went on to win the national time trial title in early 2020.

"I am very excited to be re-signing with Team TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank. I can't wait to learn more from a great team and gain more racing experience abroad. 2020 has been great for us, despite some unusual circumstances. It will be fun to move our cohesion from Zwift to the road, and our first goal for 2021 is the Australian Road Nationals in January, where we hope to get our racing swoon out of the way and start strong in the road races and time trials."

TIBCO Silicon Valley Bank has also extended contracts with Dutch track champion Nina Kessler and American Emily Newsom, both of whom played key roles in the team's virtual Tour de France performance.

Jackson said he is looking for a third partner to join the TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank program in 2021.
