[2020 La Course by Le Tour de France (opens in new tab) will take place on Saturday, August 29 in Nice, France, as the world's best riders gather along the Promenade des Anglais for the next round of the Women's World Tour.

Cycling News will provide live coverage of the race. You can also check back immediately after the event for a complete report on the Tour de France la course, results, galleries, and news.

The race was originally scheduled to return to Paris on July 19 for a one-day circuit race (open in new tab) on the Champs-Elysées, but organizer ASO has instead designed a two-lap, 96 km road race (open in new tab) that includes two climbs over the Côte de Limiese and and finish back in Nice.

The route was initially expected to be more suited to sprinters, but after previewing the circuit, the general consensus in the peloton was that it would be more challenging and perhaps more suitable for punters and escape specialists.

Marianne Vos (CCC-Liv) will be racing with the goal of defending the title she won last year at La Course by Tour de France in Pau.

She will face stiff competition from top contenders; Marta Bastianelli (Ale BTC-Ljubljana), Annemike van Fruten (Mitchelton-Scott), Chloe Hosking (Rally Cycling), Chantal van den Broeck =Braak (Boels Dolmans), Elisa Longo Borghini (Trek Segafredo), Leanne Lippert (Team Sunweb), Cecilie Uttrup-Ludwig (FDJ Nouvelle Aquitaine Futuroscope), Kasia Niewiadoma (Canyon -SRAM), Lizzie Banks (Ekip Paulka).
