Pidcock Wins Under 23 Giro d'Italia

Trinity Racing's Tom Pidcock won the fourth stage of the "Baby Giro," the under-23 version of the Giro d'Italia, on Tuesday to take the overall lead.

According to Cycling Weekly, Pidcock left the breakaway group behind on the final climb to the finish in Borca, finishing the stage 22 seconds ahead of Colleoni.

The 21-year-old cyclocross, road, and mountain bike star is the current British cyclocross champion and finished second behind Dutchman Mathieu van der Pol at the World Cyclocross Championships in Dübendorf, Switzerland, in February.

After Pidcock crossed the finish line wearing the red and black points leader jersey, his Trinity Racing team posted on Twitter, "Mainstays in action today."

The team then added the caption "Pretty in pink" to a photo of Pidcock in his new pink leader's jersey.

The under-23 race continues on Wednesday with a 132-km flat fifth stage between Marostica and Roza, finishing in Aprica on September 5.
