This may be the latest Giro in memory, but EF Pro Cycling's new kit is sure to enrich the vibrancy of the Italian Grand Tour, despite the fall schedule.
The American UCI WorldTour team has unveiled bold new colors and graphic designs for its Cannondale race bikes, rider gear, and casual wear.
EF Pro Cycling's kit sponsor has collaborated with Palace, a well-known skateboard brand, to create a striking new team identity for the Giro.
The Giro d'Italia may be one of the most respected races in cycling, but EF Pro Cycling chose a look of subversive reverence to mark its presence at the 2020 event. The soft colors and subdued graphics normally used for rider gear and bike coloring have been replaced with the edgy urbanism and subversive skateboard artistry of the Palace.
The team's bike sponsor, Cannondale, has also embraced Palace's unconventional design; both the SuperSix Evo and SystemSix bikes that make up the EF Pro Cycling Giro d'Italia bike lineup feature new Palace-inspired graphics.
The forks have a distinctive tennis-ball yellow paint finish with a black checkered flag pattern and bold 1990s Palace logo font. The top of the side of the seat tube, at the junction with the chainstays, is decorated with various Palace design elements, including the brand identity of EF Pro Cycling's Giro bike and London skateboard company Triple Triangle.
Palace's iconic duck mascot is positioned above the seat tube, casually leaning against the bike.
The purple Rapha logo on the inside of the Cannondale team bike and ruby rear derailleur hangers complete the bold build.
In addition to the skateboard-inspired bike design, Rapha and POC have incorporated Palace graphics and color influences into their EF Pro Cycling kits.
