FDJ Nouvelle Aquitaine Futuros has announced that it has signed Marta Cavalli to a two-year contract to compete on the Women's World Team through 2022. After four seasons with Valcar Travel & Services, she will step up to the top team.
"I am so happy to be a part of this great team. Now it's time to face new experiences to further improve as a sportswoman and as a human being. I am convinced that I have found a group of people with whom I can share my future plans and goals, and that the best conditions for success are in place."
"I am very grateful to Valentino Villa and the Valcar team. I also thank the managers of the Fiamma Oro-State Police for their constant support in my day-to-day activities."[5
Cavalli, 22, signed her first professional contract with Valcar PBM in 2017 and won the Italian national road race title in 2018. Her other career highlights include second place at the Brabantse Pile, second overall at the Giro delle Marche in Rosa, fourth at the GP de Prue, fifth at the Durango Durango Emacmen Salia, and sixth at the Postnord Val Garda road race. He also placed fourth in a stage at this year's Giro Rosa.
"Marta is one of the brightest riders of her generation. She has worn the under-23 leader's jersey many times in the Women's World Tour rankings," said Stephane Delcourt, general manager of FDJ Nouvelle Aquitaine Futuroscope.
"We have been following her for several years and her ability on all terrains is impressive. We share the same values and the same ambitions, so we quickly came to an agreement."
"She is a great example of a woman who is very good at what she does, and we are very happy to have her on board.
FDJ Nouvelle Aquitaine Futuroscope was one of eight teams in the first wave of the 2020 Women's World Team. They signed with the high-profile Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig this year, renewing their contract through 2022. Delcour said the team plans to continue to grow in anticipation of a women's stage race in 2022, which he believes will rival the Tour de France hosted by ASO.
"Our team has reached a milestone in 2020, but we want to grow even more to build the strongest team possible for the future women's Tour de France in 2022," Delcourt said.
." Therefore, for the 2021 season, we will have 13 cyclists." To let our colors shine, we are a stable, young, and ambitious team to conquer the biggest races in the world.
Cavalli races on road and track and has his sights set on next summer's Tokyo Olympics; his first road race goal for the 2021 season at the FDJ Nouvelle Aquitaine Futuroscope is the Spring Classic.
"The first goal is to build a great feeling with the whole team - my new teammates and staff. After this important step, we can then focus on training." During the winter, I will build a strong condition with the team for the Classic. My goal is to honor those who believed in me and gave me this great opportunity."
