Ale BTC Ljubljana announced on Saturday that it will not participate in Sunday's Gent-Wevelgem following a positive test for COVID-19 in the team.
"The players and staff of Team Bubble were double tested prior to Ghent-Wevelgem and the team complied with all protocols and expected safety bubbles, but today we were informed of the positive from the laboratory that conducted the tests," said team doctor Claudio Sprenger.
"For this reason, we immediately implemented the protocol set forth by the International Cycling Union and the entire team was quarantined in accordance with the laws in force in Belgium. In agreement with the technical staff, we have decided not to participate in the race scheduled for tomorrow in Belgium"

This is the second COVID-19 case on the Women's World Tour this week, after CCC-Liv was forced to withdraw from Brabantse Pijl on Wednesday due to a positive COVID-19 coronavirus test on the team.
Allee BTC Ljubljana was registered to compete in Ghent-Wevelgem along with former winner Marta Bastianelli, as well as Myke Boogaard, Eugenia Bujak, Mavi Garcia, Tatiana Gudelzo, and Eri Yonamine.
The team also competed in the midweek Brabantse Pijl, where Garcia finished 9th, Anastasia Churcina 16th, Yonamine 29th, Bastianelli 30th, Bujak 38th, and Bougaard did not finish.
The team will compete in the Tour of Flanders on October 18 and AG Driedaagse Brugge-De Panne on October 20.
