Van Breuten, Spratt, and Brown Lead Mitchelton Scott in Tour of Flanders

Annemiek van Vleuten and Amanda Spratt will return from injury to join Mitchelton-Scott in Sunday's Tour of Flanders.

This makes the Australian WorldTour team the team to watch this weekend, but they will face a strong challenge from road race world champion Anna van der Breggen and her Boels-Dolmans teammate Trek-Segafredo, which features Lizzie Deignan will, Trek Segafredo with Ellen van Dijk and Elisa Longo Borghini, and last year's winner Marta Bastianelli, who missed Ghent-Wevelgem due to a positive coronavirus test in the team, and her Yale BTC Ljubljana teammates to compete in the race if they are cleared to do so.

Van Vleuten crashed at the finish of stage 7 of the Giro Rosa last month, breaking her wrist and forcing her out of the race despite leading the overall standings. However, he finished second at the World Championships at the end of September and 28th at Liège-Bastogne-Liège in early October.

"I needed sunshine and a different training area to re-energize myself and my body," said Van Vleuten, who traveled to Sardinia. After Liège, I realized that my level wasn't very good and I needed to train hard to compete in Flanders."

"This could be my last race of the season and my last race with the team after five years.

"My wrist still hurts, but the pain is getting better every day.

"My wrist is still sore, but the pain is getting better every day.

Spratt is recovering from a concussion suffered in the same crash as Van Vleuten at the Giro Rosa; the 33-year-old Australian had hoped to return to racing at the World Championships, but was advised to rest and fully recover before resuming competition.

Despite the team's two big guns, Grace Brown, who is in good form, will no doubt be given the freedom she has enjoyed in recent races, including second place in Liège and a win in Brabantste Paille.

It will also be Erwin's last Tour de Flanders.

The 31-year-old finished second in Flanders in 2017, but seems content to enjoy the race and help her teammates as much as possible.

"The team is in good shape and has proven that it is working well. It's exciting for me to see a rider like Grace step up in a race like this," Ervin said. 'I want to share my love and experience of this race one last time with my teammates, have some fun and give it my best.'

Sport Director Alejandro Gonzalez Tablas added: "I'm really looking forward to the race. Grace finished second in Liège and won in Brabantspaille, while Roy also finished in Ghent-Wevelgem."

"Thus, we have a group of riders in good shape. Anne-Mike will also be back in the team after missing the last two races.

"The great news is that Spratt is back from his crash at the Giro Rosa.
