Marianne Foss will lead the newly formed Jumbo Visma women's team, it was announced Monday.
The new team, which will be based out of Parkhotel Valkenburg in 2020, will be directed by Esra Trump, the current boss of Parkhotel Valkenburg Under UCI rules, the new team cannot immediately compete on the Women's World Tour.
"I am proud to be part of Team Jumbo Visma. I am attracted to the team's vision and ambition and look forward to starting together," Vos said in a statement.
Vos, 33, had another successful 2020 season, winning three stages at the Giro Rosa, finishing fourth in the women's road race at the UCI Road World Championships, and second at La Course.
The team will be named Jumbo Visma, but the Parkhotel Valkenburg brand will continue as a sponsor.
"The time is ripe.
"It is great to be able to make a significant contribution to women's cycling at home and abroad through our own women's team. With the addition of this women's team, we complete Team Jumbo-Visma and embrace the highest level of talent assessment, development, and top sport. In addition, it is great to be able to offer young girls long-term prospects within our academy model."
[14Jumbo Visma already has a men's World Tour team and a development team, and the new women's team will complete the circle in terms of its roster. Like Team Sunweb, which also has a women's, men's, and development team, Jumbo-Visma will collaborate and share resources and knowledge.
The team consists of 12 players, including Voss, and the rest of the roster includes Gyp van den Voss, Lierjanne Marx, Anouska Koster, Nancy van der Burg, Romy Kasper, Ahke Soet, Tüntje Beekhuis, Julie Van de Velde, Pernille Mathiesen, Carline Swinkels, and Anna Henderson of England.
