Rouvy is partnering with the 75th Vuelta a España to offer fans of the season's final Grand Tour an even more immersive experience.
With the Vuelta taking place late in the season and many cycling fans not being able to watch the race, organizers have been working to evolve the digital appeal of the race.
Adding another dimension of entertainment value to the race has proven important, as the race has been reduced from 21 to 18 stages, reducing the traditional TV viewing window and local regulations have reduced on-site viewing.
In an attempt to provide a deeper digital experience for the race's loyal followers, Louvy will offer virtual participation in eight stages during the event. For Vuelta fans who want to do more than simply follow a live stream of the race, Louvy will place you in the peloton.
With the Grand Tour schedule radically disrupted this year, race organizers are realizing that they must innovate to create value. In particular, the COVID-19 regulations have suspended many popular spectator points of interest.
With Europe heading into winter, indoor cycling becoming the cycling of choice in much of the northern hemisphere, and a wealth of new indoor cycling apps and excellent turbo trainers, there has never been a better time for the Vuelta to go virtual.
To make the virtual race even more exciting, Louvy will allow riders to participate in the grand finale of the four stages on November 14, 15, 21, and 22. The stages covered in this part of the Digital Vuelta are La Laguna Negra, Col du Tourmalet, Alto de Moncalvillo, Alto de la Farrapona, Alto de Languril, Mirador de Ezaro, and Alto de la Covatilla.
Using social media as a voting mechanism, followers of the virtual Vuelta can influence which of the four finals Louvi will race on the dates scheduled for November.
As with most louvi, there are prizes for notable performances. Prizes range from official La Vuelta merchandise to trips to the Czech Republic.
