Tao Geoghegan Hart overtook Jai Hindley in the 2020 Giro d'Italia time trial to not only win the Maglia Rosa, but also move up one GC step, earning Ineos Grenadiers €155,006 (the difference between the first and second place individual overall prize money), In addition, €20,000 for the Young Player Class, €2,000 for the Maglia Rosa and €750 for the Maglia Bianca.
Ineos Grenadiers took home roughly €430,693, excluding the daily Intergiro sprint and the combat bonus. In comparison, the top Tour de France team, UAE Team Emirates, won about 200,000 euros more.
Ineos' winnings included a €5,000 prize for winning the team class, as well as €500 each for being the top team in a stage five times a day.
Jai Hindley and Wilco Kelderman took second and third place overall, respectively, for Team Sunweb. Their highest earnings came from second place overall (€133,412) and third place overall (€68,801), Hindley's stage win (worth €11,000), the young rider award, and third place in the team class.

Deceuninck-Quickstep has appointed Joao Almeida to the Maglia Rosa for 15 days at €2,000 a time, for a total of approximately €145,507. Almeida finished 4th overall for €21,516 and 3rd Best Young Rider for €6,000. The young Portuguese rider earned two-thirds of the team's prize money.

De Mare's team earned a fair play award and €5,000 for having made it through the race without a single penalty or warning.
Peter Sagan (Bora-Hansgrohe) took home one stage win, four second places, and one day in the mountains for €45,243.
The Giro d'Italia will award a "Fighting Spirit Award" (€300 per day), which combines both sprint and mountain points, plus 5th place for most intermediate sprint points, 3rd place for most mountain points, and 3rd place for most overall stage points. Tomas de Gendt (Lotto-Soudal) won the overall Fighting Spirit Award of €4,000.
There was also a breakaway prize (€100 per day), with Mattia Vice (Androni Giocattoli Cidermec) winning €4,800 for the most time in the breakaway.
Gianni Savio knew how to maximize his profit, and along with Vice's prize money, Simon Perrault took the intermediate sprint class win (worth €8,000) and Jonathan Restrepo earned €1,000 for fifth in the same ranking. The Androni Giocattoli Sidermec team finished 12th in the prize money, earning 24,607 euros.
