Tour de France organizers have announced the route for the 2021 Grand Tour and Women's World Tour La Course by Le Tour de France.

La Course by Le Tour de France will be 130 km long, with five laps on the same day as the Tour de France men's second stage.

The women's race will finish in Mule de Bretagne. It is 2 km long with an average gradient of 6.9%, but the first kilometer exceeds 10%.

The 8th La Course is the longest and arguably the hardest in the history of the event. For the past three years it has been held on the Champs-Elysées, and in 2017 it was held on the Col d'Isere. The finale at Le Grand-Bornand the following year was the most memorable, with Annemiek van Vleuten chasing down compatriot Anna van der Breggen and preventing her from winning in the end.

In 2019, the race was held on the hilly circuit of Pau, won by Marianne Vos, and this year in Nice, won by Lizzie Deignan (Trek Segafredo) from a small group sprint.
