Trek Segafredo Confirms All Women's World Tour Entrants for 2021

Trek Segafredo announced Wednesday the full roster of riders who will compete on the Women's World Tour in 2021. With only two newcomers, Chloe Hosking and Amalie Dideriksen, the team has renewed its 12-rider core for the upcoming season.

Hosking joins the team from Rally Cycling and Dideriksen from Boels Dolmans, and the two replace Ana Prikta, who has signed with Lotto Sowdal Ladies, and Avi van Tuysk and Lotta Hentala, who are on maternity leave.

The team has already announced the addition of Hosking and Dideriksen, as well as contract renewals through 2022 for Elisa Longo Borghini and Lizzie Deignan, the team's strong duo. [Trek Segafredo is Elinor Beckstedt, Lucinda Brand, Audrey Cordon-Lago, Lauretta Hanson, Letizia Paternoster, Shirin van Unroy, Ellen van Dijk, and Taylor Wiles, who signed as trainees this August, Ruth Winder, and Trixie Wolak, the ten remaining members of the team were announced.

Cordon-Lagotte, van Dijk, Paternoster, and Wiles will remain with the team through 2022. Wollack and Hanson are extended through 2021. Brand signed a two-year contract last year and will remain with the team through 2021, while Backstedt's current contract runs through 2022.

"I think it's important to keep the same core players for the next years," said coach Ina Teutenberg. We're nearing the end of our second year and we're coming together as a team."

"It's very important to keep the main players, and hopefully we can continue to perform the same way we have since lockdown. On top of that, we are happy to have signed two top sprinters and another young talent. I hope we can improve even more and have a group of riders who can win in any situation."

"Trek-Segafredo's success this year has been largely due to strength, camaraderie, and tactical prowess.

Degnan is currently leading the 2020 Women's World Tour after a very successful season, winning the GP de Plouët, La Course, and Liège-Bastogne-Liège. At the Giro Rosa, the team won the opening team time trial, while Elisa Longo Borghini took the stage win and third place overall.

Deignan and Longo Borghini attacked the team from two sides in the race and displayed strong teamwork to support their strategy.
