Van Breuten praised the organizers for organizing a three-day race. While recent competitions have been two days, this one coincides with the final three days of the men's Vuelta a EspaƱa, with the last day of both events finishing in Madrid on Sunday.

"The uphill finish of the first stage is not a very long climb, but I would love to try it," Van Breuten said of the 82.2 km opening stage between Tordeo and Escalona.

"The second stage, a 9.44-km short time trial around Boadilla del Monte, will be challenging for my wrist as well.

Van Vleuten crashed at the finish of stage 7 of the Giro Rosa in September while leading the overall standings, breaking his wrist. Despite being forced to retire from this race, van Vleuten was cleared by his doctor to compete in the World Championships road race in Imola, Italy, a week later, wearing a wrist brace and winning a silver medal behind Dutch national teammate Anna van der Breggen She won a silver medal behind Dutch teammate Anna van der Breggen.

"I'm looking forward to the final stage. I will be leading out with Sarah Roy in the sprint," Van Vleuten added of the 92.2km third stage around Madrid. I'm looking forward to the third stage because I realize that my time with this great team and these people is coming to an end."

In addition to Roy, Van Vleuten's final race in Mitchelton Scott will include Jess Allen, Janneke Ensing, Jess Roberts, and Georgia Williams. Sport director Alejandro Gonzalez-Tablas said that the first stage, the Boadilla del Monte time trial, and the final lap of the Madrid course have both been used in the past two years.

"It's not a super hard stage, but it's a windy area, so expect some action if the wind is strong. Gonzalez-Tablas added, "For climbers, it's not that hard of a course, but I think it suits some riders.

"Even if you get into the lead group on the first stage, if it splits up, the time trial will be all about the overall.

"It's been a long 'short' season," Gonzalez-Tablas added. 'But there are riders who have performed very well during this period.'
