CeramicSpeed's New UFO Drip Lubricant Reduces Price, Improves Efficiency and Speed

Ceramic Speed has introduced an all-new UFO drip chain lube that replicates melt-on-wax in an easy-to-apply drip formula.

According to the brand, the new chain lube is 15% faster than the traditional UFO drip and, more importantly, faster than any competitor on the market. The graph below shows the results of a 5-hour friction test of CeramicSpeed. During the test period, the new UFO drip consistently matched or exceeded its peers with a 5-hour loss of 2.5 to 3.5 watts. This performance was closest to that of AbsoluteBlack's GraphenLube, which outperformed competing products by up to 3.5 watts.

In addition to this increased efficiency, the lubricant is said to last 50% longer than conventional products, with CeramicSpeed claiming a lifetime of up to 300 km per use; a 180 ml bottle can be used over 35 times, which is equivalent to 10,500 km.

Despite this improvement in both efficiency and longevity, CeramicSpeed has also decided to lower the price from €70.00 to €40.00, making it more affordable. This still beats out many of the everyday chain lubes we tested, but is far from the most expensive on the market, with AbsoluteBlack taking the crown.

It is used like any other lubricant, but once applied, it must be left overnight to cure. Once dry, the chain feels clean to the touch and is said to offer protection from external factors for riders of all stripes, on-road and off-road.

If Ceramic Speed's claims are to be believed, this bottle seems to be a good investment for riders who want to optimize drivetrain efficiency without worrying about application headaches.
