At Sunday's Vuelta a Colombia, Spanish-born Oscar Sevilla missed out on his fourth career title, losing second place overall to Diego Camargo (Tierra de Aretas, Colombia), who is half his age.
The 44-year-old Sevilla had closed the gap to Camargo by nearly a minute in Thursday's individual time trial by 22 seconds and added another nine seconds of bonus seconds in Saturday's final stage. However, Camargo marked Sevilla in the final kilometer of the final stage, and the 22-year-old Camargo finished in the same time as stage winner Salvador Moreno (EBSA) by 12 seconds to claim the historic victory.

Since moving to Colombia, Sevilla has won three consecutive titles in 2013, 2014, and 2015. His illustrious career in Europe ended with his involvement with Operacion Puerto, but he found love, happiness, and success in his new race.
After Gonzalo Najar was disqualified for doping, he became the winner of the 2018 Vuelta a San Juan; in February, after renewing his contract with Team MedellĂn for the 2020 season, he finished third overall behind Remco Evenpoel He finished in.
At 44, Sevilla is far from the oldest professional cyclist, as Davide Rebellin continued racing past his 49th birthday.
