Tao Geoghegan Hart's overall victory in the rematch of the Giro d'Italia at the end of October may have come as a surprise to many, including himself, but the 25-year-old British rider has taken his victory in the world's second biggest race in stride and is already back on his bike, with his He is looking ahead to the 2021 season with Ineos Grenadiers.
In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport published on Instagram on Thursday, Geoghan Hart answered various questions from the Italian sports newspaper and its readers.
Geoghan Hart was asked if he thinks he could win the Tour de France or even the Vuelta a España during his career, to which he replied: "Of course, that's my dream. Winning the Giro as my first Grand Tour would be really great.
"But definitely, that's my goal. And to fight for a race like that every year."
"And of course, the Giro," added Geoghegan Hart, hinting at a return to the race next year to defend his title. I always love racing in Italy and I'm looking forward to having a more regular season next year."
With his victory in the Giro, Geoghegan Hart joins Ineos Grenadiers' other Grand Tour winners (Geraint Thomas, Eoghan Bernal, Richard Karapas, and Chris Froome), the latter of whom will start up in Israel in 2021 departing for the state.
Bernal was unable to defend his Tour title this summer due to back problems complicated by leg length differences, Thomas crashed out of the Giro early, and Giohegan Hart was able to run for the Giro title, but after Carapaz ran the Tour de France, finished second in the Vuelta a España.
