Absolute Black introduces inexpensive graphene lubricant

The logic goes that if you use the finest drivetrain and the finest chain, you should also use the finest bicycle chain lube. Last August, Absolute Black registered a trademark for a new chain lube, which has just been launched.

GRAPHENwax is the company's new drivetrain lubricant, and unlike other wax-drip chain lubes, it is packaged in solid form rather than liquid.

The boxed GRAPHENwax consists of four blocks that look like fine chocolate. According to the brand, this solid chemical formula contains graphene, which allows the new AbsoluteBlack wax lubricant to remain stable up to 100°C. It is also said to be more resistant to friction than most conventional chain lubes, especially under extremely hot or humid conditions.

The waxpot method is considerably more labor intensive than simply dropping a few drops of lubricant on the chain links, but it can have significant benefits and is less expensive than AbsoluteBlack's own GRAPHENlube.

For riders who are not afraid to remove the entire chain, prepare the wax solution in a pot, and dab it on, GRAPHENwax should last 400 km per use.

Absolute Black has set a high standard for premium chain lube with GRAPHENlube, which lasts 1,800 km per application, a very advanced drip formula, but at £114.99 for a 140 ml bottle, a bit expensive for many! too much.
