Bianchi has redesigned its famous cheleste colors for the bikes it will supply to the Australian GreenEdge team in 2021, adding a diagonal band of turquoise cheleste and carbon black to give the bikes a modern aesthetic.
The Mitchelton Scott men's and women's teams will race in the new colors in 2021 with a new title sponsor. After a long relationship with Scott, the team will work with Bianchi, which has ended its relationship with Jumbo Visma.
GreenEdge is the name of the team's management company, but according to Cyclingnews, the team will carry one of team owner Jerry Ryan's brands as its title sponsor and team name for 2021.
The team will use the Specialissima lightweight disc, the Oltre XR4 disc aero bike, and the Aquila time trial bike. They will be equipped with Shimano components, Fizik saddles, Bianchi Reparto Corse by Vision/Fa cockpits, Pirelli P Zero tires, and Garmin computers.
"The new look was conceived through a close partnership between Bianchi and GreenEdge, and helps to bring together their aligned communication objectives by treating bike and rider as one integrated entity," said Bianchi Marketing & Communications Manager Claudio Masnata said when the bike was unveiled.
Adam Yates, Jack Hague, and Daryl Impey have moved on, but Michael Matthews returns along with Tanal Kangert and Jansen Amund Grondahl. Annemiek van Fruten moved to Movistar, but Amanda Spratt remained, and Tenniel Campbell led the newcomers.
"For GreenEdge Cycling, the 2021 season is a new era, a new beginning, and it is a great honor to race with an iconic brand like Bianchi," said GreenEdge Cycling President Darrack McQuaid.
"Over the past nine years we have achieved incredible results in the UCI World Tour. Bianchi brings their unique Italian style and innovative technology to the team and together we are aiming for great success. We have worked hard over the last few months to put together the best team with the best riders and staff." We can't wait to begin this new journey with Bianchi.
