Rolf Aldag Leaves Canyon-SRAM

Canyon-SRAM announced Thursday that Rolf Aldag will leave his position as Director Sportif after one year with the Women's World Team. Team Manager Ronnie Lauke will assume the role of Director Sportif on an interim basis, and the team will look to 2021 to fill that role.

"I want to thank the Canyon-SRAM team, led by Ronnie, for their hard work and dedication to the team. The team has made me realize how much potential can be unlocked by taking the human element seriously and going through the peaks and valleys as a team," Aldag said in a team press release.

Aldag joined Canyon-SRAM this year after leaving Dimension Data after Mark Cavendish was not selected for the 2019 Tour de France.

Aldag joined the team as a director at the sport's premier races, including the Giro Rosa, where the team finished second overall with Kasia Niewiadoma.

"Rolf has been Canyon-SRAM's sporting director for only one year, but his extraordinary knowledge and experience, along with his great commitment to the team, have brought the team to its potential," Lauke said in a press release.

"I am very proud of our joint successes like the team's first overall podium at the Giro Rosa. We thank Rolf for his great work with Canyon-SRAM and wish him all the best for the future, both personally and professionally."
