The mystery of where Tour de France stage winner and Fresh Wallonne winner Marc Hirsch will move to after terminating his contract with Team DSM was quickly solved on Tuesday, according to Wielerflits.nl (opens in new tab), the Swiss rider will join Tour winner Tadej Pogachar and UAE Team Emirates.
Hirschi, 22, narrowly missed out on two stage victories at the Tour de France, but he managed a solo breakaway on stage 12 in Salins to win his first World Tour race. At the end of the Tour, he was crowned the most combative overall winner.
He followed that up with a bronze medal at the World Championships and won La Flèche Wallonne ahead of Benoit Cosnefrois and Michael Woods. In Liège-Bastogne-Liège, he finished second behind Primoš Roglic after Julien Alaphilippe was demoted for an erratic sprint.
Team DSM announced on Tuesday that it had "reached a settlement with Marc Hirsch to terminate his current employment effective December 31, 2021."
Hirschi's untimely departure followed those of Tom Dumoulin, Michael Matthews, Warren Barguil, and Marcel Kittel.
