Lazer Announces New Sphere Helmet with MIPS

Lazer adds a new MIPS-equipped road helmet to its lineup.

The Belgian brand known for making the best road bike helmets has developed Sphere, which combines a stylish look with a seamless ride without sacrificing safety.

Lazer's industrial designers claim to have analyzed the rider's position and found that most road cyclists ride with their heads tilted forward 15 degrees. This biomechanical data was used as a core value for designing the airflow characteristics of Lazer's Sphere.

Generously sized vent ports ensure optimal airflow and provide the cooling needed for sweltering midday summer training rides.

In addition to the Sphere's balanced ventilation, Lazer's Rollsys retention system allows for 360-degree fit adjustment.

The helmet's fit adjuster is mounted high, so riders with long hair or those who wear their hair in a ponytail will not have to worry about the annoyance of the retention system getting caught in their hair.

The Sphere blends in nicely with the best cycling sunglasses, and the Razor's Aeroshell cover also fits if you plan on riding through cold training days.

Available in four different sizes and seven different colors, the smallest Sphere weighs 250g and the largest 350g. In traditional sizing, Lazer's new Sphere has a head circumference range of 52-64 cm.

Lazer's UK customers only have the premium Sphere MIPS option. It is equipped with the Swedish MIPS slip-plane liner, and riders benefit from additional crash safety.

The MIPS liner absorbs angular impact forces and decelerates rapid rotational forces that often trigger brain soft tissue trauma.

Lazer sells Sphere MIPS for £119.99/€159.95/$159.95.
