Israeli Start-Up National Team may be vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccine at the end of March.

Silvan Adams, co-owner of Israel Startup Nation, confirmed that the team may receive the COVID-19 vaccine at its second training camp this spring, but stressed that this will only be possible after the State of Israel achieves "collective immunity." He stated.

At the team's press conference on Monday, Adams insisted that the State of Israel's vaccine plan is on pace enough to be considered for vaccination in approximately two and a half months.

"About 25% of the population has already received the vaccine, and they are saying that by the end of March everyone in Israel will have received a second dose, essentially herd immunity," Adams said. [At that point, it may be possible to consider other categories of people, but we are not going to jump the queue. If there is a vaccine, we might consider vaccinating riders."

At the team's first training camp of 2021, held in Girona, Spain, rather than Israel, which was the original goal before the pandemic made that impossible, Adams said the second training camp is where that hypothetical vaccination might It will be, he said. [Whether they [the players] would be eligible for one vaccination and whether they would be able to stay long enough to receive the second vaccination. These things are being discussed," Adams noted.

"We have a very good relationship with the various local [government] ministries, and the Ministry of Sports has encouraged us to have a second camp. I don't know the exact answer, but hopefully we can make it happen without jumping the queue or depriving anyone else."

To date, the only team to receive the COVID-19 vaccination was UAE Team Emirates, which participated in a pre-season training camp in the United Arab Emirates during the first week of January. This was a voluntary program for riders and staff as part of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine trial in the UAE.
