Arturo Gravalos of Eolo Cometa underwent brain surgery this week to remove a tumor.
The Spanish rider turned pro this year with an Italian professional team, but his debut campaign was cut short in August when he began suffering from severe headaches.

According to the Eolo Cometa team, Grabaros underwent a "complex and hours-long" surgery at a Zaragoza hospital on Thursday.
The surgery was a success and the doctors are satisfied with the results.
"At the urging of Ryder and his entourage, the situation was kept discreet while waiting for the surgery and subsequent rehabilitation to begin.
The statement also included a message from the Grabaros family: "We would like to publicly thank all the professionals at Lozano Bresa for their care and attention, especially the excellent work of the entire team led by Dr. Del Rio."
The statement also said.
Grabaros ran last summer as a stagiaire for Eolo Comenta, the team founded by Ivan Basso and Alberto Contador, and this year became a full-time professional contract.
In the spring he finished outside the time limit at the Strade Bianche and Indurain GPs, and in June and July he raced a series of one-day races: he finished 84th at the Settimana Ciclista Italiana in July, competed in three one-day races in Spain and He finished 48th in the Circuito.de Getxo on August 1.
