The Rally Cycling Team announced Tuesday that it will change its name to Human Powered Health in 2022 and 2023. The team is owned and operated by Minnesota-based Circuit Sports, which has launched its own branded wellness platform as a title sponsor.
Rally Health is currently the title sponsor of Rally Cycling's men's and women's teams; it took over the reigns from Optum Pro Cycling in 2016 and offered the team a multi-year contract.
"Human Powered Health represents more than racing, more than athletics," says Charles Aaron, managing director and founder of Circuit Sports. "It's a reminder that you have more control over your health than you think. We want to support people's minds and bodies and inspire them to take small, easy steps toward greater health and wellbeing using our platform."
[6Circuit Sport has led health and wellness awareness campaigns such as Inspired Bikes, Body Positivity, Healthy Habits, and Longevity.
The team said that as the Human Powered Health platform grows into a hub for athlete-driven health and wellness content, health and wellness-oriented campaigns will expand and evolve. New brand partnerships will allow the team to incorporate data analytics on sleep, nutrition, exercise, and health management, the company said in a media release.
In addition, they will launch a Discord channel that will serve as a hub for fans, partners, and clients. Hosted by the team and featuring regular appearances by professional riders, the channel will be a place to share ideas for living a healthier lifestyle.
The group operates a UCI women's team and upgraded the men's team to a Professional Continental license in 2018. The goal is to get the men's team into the World Tour, but it will be the women's team that jumps up to the top level, as they have applied for a women's World Tour license in 2022.
"We could not have taken this step without the support of our partners and a shared vision for the future," says Aaron.
"We've shown our ability to win bike races around the world, but what keeps us going is creating connections and empowering people."Circuit Sports said it is currently working on a partnership with a brand that will be part of Human Powered Health, which will be announced in the coming weeks. Asked if Rally Health would be interested in renewing its sponsorship, a Rally Cycling spokesperson said that details would be announced on November 16.
