Wildlife Generation signs Oaken, Lim, and Magill

The Wildlife Generation Pro Cycling Team has announced the signing of Turkish rider Ahmet Oğuken and American riders Brendan Lim and Scott McGill for 2022.

Orken, 28, is a seven-time Turkish time trial champion and two-time national road champion. Last season, the 28-year-old represented Turkey at the Tokyo Olympics. He moved from Malaysia's Team Sapura.

Lim, 25, is a former winner of the Tour de Bose and was with EvoPro Racing this season. He raced for five years in the Hincapie program, and in 2019 he finished on the podium in the Salt Lake City Circuit stage of the Tour of Utah.

McGill is a 23-year-old sprinter who has shown himself to be an all-rounder over the past three seasons in Evolo. He finished 10th at the 2021 US Pro Road Race Nationals in Knoxville.

Led by Danny Van Houte, the team spent most of the season in Turkey, where Alex Horne scored the only win of the 2021 season at the UCI 1.2-ranked Grand Prix of Erciyes. Horn, Noah Granigan, and Ulises Castillo also made the podium in Turkey, with Castillo finishing second overall at the Tour of Mevlana.

Wildlife Generation also competed in the Tour of Rwanda, with Horn finishing third overall and Sergiye Tvetkov second overall in the Turul Romaniei.

Tvetcov, the reigning Romanian national champion, is one of six riders returning to Wildlife Generation in 2022. Ryan Justlove, Kent Ross, Cormac McGuio, Johnny Clark, and Granigan will also remain with the team.

The team will close out the season by competing in the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn's Cup Tour of Thailand from December 1-6.

"We couldn't be happier to see a podium or two in Thailand," Van Houte said in a press release.

Van Haute ran the Jelly Belly Cycling Team from 2000 to 2018, making it the longest partnership in professional cycling; in 2019, he will be able to continue with the Wildlife Generation Pro Cycling Team, an environmental nonprofit organization and signed a three-year deal as title sponsor.
