The Movistar team has unveiled its 2022 racing kit, replacing its previous sky blue look with a striped dark blue jersey and matching shorts.
The 2022 kit will be manufactured by La Passione, a direct sales brand, on behalf of Alée. Alejandro Valverde, Enric Mas, Annemiek van Fruten, Emma Norsgaard, and Matteo Jorgenson showed off their jerseys in a video released Wednesday.
The 2022 jerseys and shorts feature the blue curved Movistar "M" and the telecommunications giant's logo. Other sponsors, including bicycle brands Canyon and La Passione, are also named on the jerseys.
Movistar had a subpar 2021 season, but continues to make changes to the team's structure and profile for 2022 under the leadership of head of performance Pazzi Villa.
Newcomers to the men's team include Gorka Izaguirre, Oscar Rodriguez, Max Canter, Ivan Sosa, Will Barta, and Alex Aramburu.
Mas remains the team leader in the Grand Tour, with Iván García Cortina targeting the Classics.
Van Vleuten will lead the women's team for a second season along with Emma Norsgaard, while Australian Sarah Gigante will be the main newcomer for 2022.
In recent weeks, Ineos Grenadiers, Trek-Segafredo, Drone Hopper-Androni Giocattoli, and Team DSM have announced their racing colors for 2022. Others are expected to do so in the coming days, and especially at the start of 2022 when new sponsorships begin and new contracted racers can show off their 2022 colors.
