Dan Bigam Joins Ineos Grenadiers' Technical Staff

Ineos Grenadiers told Cycling News that Dan Bigum has joined the 2022 team structure as race engineer.

The British WorldTour team announced that Bigam has been invited to join the team as a staff member rather than as a rider for the upcoming season; the 30-year-old broke Bradley Wiggins' British time record of 54.723 km in Switzerland in October 2021.

Biggum will join Ribble Well Dite Pro Cycling in 2021, and although British Cycling's website lists the trade team as Ineos Grenadiers this year, the team quickly confirmed that Biggum will not compete in road races with the team

The team also confirmed that Bigam would not be competing in road races with the team.

Bigam has established himself as a major force on the track, finishing 16th in the elite men's time trial at the 2021 UCI Road World Championships, but is not a full-time professional athlete. In the last few years he has worked as an aerodynamics consultant for various teams, including Jumbo-Visma, Canyon-SRAM, and the Danish track cycling team.

Bigham's experience and knowledge will undoubtedly help train several young riders in the Ineos Grenadiers, and if 25-year-old Italian rider Filippo Ganna decides to challenge the world hour record within the next 12 months, there is more than a good chance he will assist

Further to this, the team is also looking to develop a new team of riders.
