Specialized Unveils 2022 Team-Provided Bikes, Custom Colors Available for Sagan and Alaphilippe

Specialized has unveiled the S-Works Tarmac SL7, a team-supplied bike for sponsored teams Quick Step-Alpha Vinyl, SD Walks, Total Energies, and Beulah Hansgrohe.

"Most of the bikes and equipment we make are developed hand-in-hand with these athletes," Specialized's S-Racing leader Scott Jackson said in a press release.

"We help our riders perform at their best, and in turn, they help us develop the best products. This is a proven method for us and close collaboration is critical to our success."

The Specialized-sponsored teams recently attended separate training camps in Spain in December.

In the men's peloton, the WorldTour teams Quick Step-Alfa Vinyl and Bora-Hansgrohe, as well as the ProTeam 2 division, Total Energies, were supplied with Specialized bikes, components, helmets, shoes, tires, and Roval wheels and components will be provided.

TotalEnergies' Tarmac SL7 bike features team-supplied bright red and a deep red fade near the headset.

However, the company has unveiled a special livery for its new star rider, former world champion and current Slovak national champion Peter Sagan, which is blue with a prominent red seatpost.

SD Worx recently unveiled a new kit for 2022 that refreshes the previous purple and red, adding shades of pink and yellow.

The #1 ranked women's world team will use the new colors to match their Tarmac SL7 bike jerseys.

Specialized will provide bikes, components, helmets, shoes, tires, and apparel for SD Worx in 2022.

The Quick Step Alpha vinyl colorway also has a similar unique iridescent matte paint finish, but instead of purple, the team uses light and dark blue tones.

The team's bikes are equipped with Shimano Dura-Ace groupset, power meters and pedals, Roval wheels, PRO and Roval steam and handlebars, Specialized saddles and tires, CeramicSpeed bottom brackets, K-Edge chain catchers, Tacx bottle cages, and finished with Supacaz bar tape.

"I've loved riding the Specialized SL7 the last few seasons, but this new finish gives it a whole new dimension," said Vuelta a EspaƱa points jersey winner Fabio Jacobsen.

"The guys at Specialized always take care of us throughout the year, and when we come to the camp in December they really look at the details of how we can go faster. Our bikes are always beautifully set up and balanced.

World Champion Julian Alaphilippe's bike also appears to have been color-changed to a more traditional world champion rainbow paint job, replacing the "swirling competitive storm" that was unveiled last October.

Another World Tour team using Specialized bikes is Beulah Hansgrohe, which unveiled a new bike late last year to match its bold new kit.
