Jocelyn Roden will join Uno-X Pro Cycling in 2022 as an all-rounder on the Women's World Team, aiming for stage races and one-day classics.
Roden became known for time trials when she broke the women's hour record in September, but in 2021 she showed off her all-around ability by winning the Tour de FĂ©minine in the Czech Republic.
"It's still a work in progress, but my mission is stage racing," she said.
"With the Giro, Tour de France, and Battle of the North, I have to do a lot in a condensed amount of time.
With the entire World Tour calendar ahead of her at Uno X and the Ardennes Classics on the horizon, Roden admitted that time trials may be on the back burner for most of 2022.
"I've been focusing on time trials for the last few years," she said. But I'm a believer in the idea that I'm neither a time triallist nor a climber. I think I'm an all-rounder."
"So in the summer time trials won't be as important, but if I were to compete in the World Championships, for example, I would definitely target the TT. But if I were to compete in the World Championships, for example, I would definitely target the TT there.
For Roden, a latecomer to the peloton, 2022 will be her fifth year racing at the UCI level, but she feels confident and comfortable in the group
before moving to Uno-X.
"I learned a lot about myself and my abilities, and a lot about my confidence on the bike, including how to handle the bike. There's a big game here that goes beyond just power and fitness, but also beyond physiology."
Until recently, Loden had been balancing racing and work, but this year he will focus on cycling full time. With a move to Andorra on the horizon, Loden hopes that his increased commitment to his cycling career will pay off in his racing.
"As for rest, it's already noticeable," he said. But not only am I more focused, but when I get on the bike to go train, I no longer feel like my head is somewhere else."
"I'm in a really good place mentally this year. I'm really happy when I'm racing and I have a little more confidence in my riding. So this year I really want to enjoy it and hopefully my results will reflect that."
